New Personal Finance Page (24-11-2011)

A new Personal Finance page has now been included on our website.  Not really aimed at accounting professionals but instead included to prevent the less financially aware and the more susceptible from being taken advantage of.

There will also be another topic included off this page with Payday loan calculator.

Due to the nature of the information we have decided to make topic available to ALL site users and not restricted to members only.

More information and feedback can be obtained using our Facebook page.

New Memberships Now Available Again (03-11-2011)

It came to our attention recently that there were still a few residual technical problems with the site, due to the October fiasco.  The major problem being that the site was unable to process new memberships!  This problem has now been fixed.

Fully Back On-Line! (20-10-2011)

Dear Members & Site Users

As you may be aware, the site has been unavailable for several days until now for technical reasons inflicted upon us by our current hosting providers, a situation we cannot allow to continue for much longer.

With this in mind, over the Christmas period we intend to migrate the website to Rackspace a premier website hosting company.  It is not going to be cheap, but we hope the move will show our commitment to providing a more sustained level of service, and we hope we can rely on your continued support.

Anyway, the good news is unless we hear otherwise it is ALL working fine again!

By way of remuneration and as a token of our apologies for any inconvenience caused over the past week, we have extended ALL memberships by one month for FREE.

New VAT Calculator (21-07-2011)

By way of popular demand a VAT Calculator has been introduced into our accounting arsenal.

This calculator uses high precision mathematics to calculate any one of the following given one amount and the VAT rate to be applied.

  • VAT and Gross Amounts given the Net Amount
  • VAT and Net Amounts given the Gross Amount
  • Net and Gross Amounts given the VAT (Estimated as the VAT amount is likely to have been rounded down to nearest penny).  In this instance the calculator automatically estimates and displays the shortfall discrepancy.

As a bonus the appropriate VAT fraction is calculated using esoteric maths.  This calculation is driven from the VAT rate entered.

The VAT rate defaults to the current standard rate, however this can be over typed if necessary.

Any questions please contact us.

New Menu (21-07-2011)

A "real-time" menu has now been introduced ensuring it is always as up to date as when you last refreshed your browser.

There is now a one hundred percent correlation between the website hierarchy, sitemap, menu and path menu.

In addition the new 'START HERE' link has been introduced to direct users less au-fait with the site to our new site map.  This then gives a good overview of the site and of course a direct link to any desired transaction.

PS: All menus are now sorted alphabetically within hierarchy for easy location.

We're Back (14-07-2011)

All transactions are now back on-line.  If you find any problems please let us know.

New Sitemap (06-07-2011)

A "real-time" sitemap has now been introduced ensuring it is always as up to date as when you last refreshed your browser.

This sitemap should also make it easier to locate a specific transaction as it is alphabetical sorted within sub hierarchy.

Accounting Revision Questions - Upgrade Completed (06-07-2011)

All of our Accounting Revision Question pages have now been converted to a new format allowing for better ease of use.

This new format can be seen by viewing any of our Accounting Revision Questions.

Newsletter Conformation - Please Check Your SPAM Folder (30-06-2011)

It has come to our attention that many of you are still having problems completing our newsletter sign-up process.  We believe the answer is very simple, for reasons one can only speculate on, over zealous Spam filters are redirecting our newsletter verification email to your Spam folder!

Thus, in conclusion, please check your Spam folder for verification email in order to complete sign-up process.

You might also want to reset Spam filter accordingly to ensure the newsletter does not suffer a similar fait!

Any problems please contact us via link at the bottom of each page.

Major Changes - Update (19-06-2011)

The first one of our new major transactions is now scheduled to go-live on 4th July, subject to UAT sign-off. This is being carried out over the next couple of weeks.

Our Newsletter Sign-up revamp has now been completed.  If you have any problems please let us know.

PS: We can promise this new breed of transactions will all run at break neck speeds!  Our main focus is to give you and other site users an experience in website performance that will totally satisfy your dreams and aspirations.

Major Changes - Implementations to Date (18-05-2011)

Users who are members of our Facebook group may already be aware that over the past week we have completely rewritten and replaced all the calculators on the site and replaced our contact us page; all these changes are clearly visible and available for use from now.

The latest versions to our replacement calculators can be seen and accessed via the menu or directly using the following links:-

A more subtle change has also been applied to the random colour scheme loader.  In the past four random colour schemes would always be loaded on each new visit to the site unless your default overrides had been set at the home page.  Now however, the primary colour scheme is always green unless your settings are set to override.

There is loads of exciting new stuff currently under development – Watch this space and sign up to our newsletter today. We will be sending out some special links to a lucky few!

Major Changes (14-05-2011)

Starting immediately and continuing over the next few weeks some major changes are being made to this website that will not be immediately obvious, however, once fully implemented some new options will be appearing on the main menu.

Minor disruption to certain transactions is possible during the implementation period, however we shall try to ensure this is kept to an absolute minimum; our apologies in advance.

New "Smart" Statutory Interest Calculator Now On-line!

Well folks, yes we know it has been a long time coming, but it is finally here!  A much simplified, more accurate version of our Statutory Interest Calculator.  You don't need to worry about which interest rate to apply as the calculator works this out for you as well!  Here's the link to Test Drive New Statutory Interest Calculator.

In addition we have also updated our Debt Collection Guidance page with all the latest rates.  You may rest assured these are up to date and refreshed every day automatically from data supplied by the Bank of England.  In addition we have now included another new page listing all historical Bank of England base rates.  However, the Statutory Interest Calculator already has access to this information.

VAT Rate Increase - Starts 4th January 2011

The 4th of January 2011 marks the date that the standard rate of VAT will increase from 17.5%to 20%.  For small businesses throughout Britain this is familiar news as it marks the third VAT rate change within two years.

Accounting Issue FACEBOOK Group (WALL)

Regular visitors to our Facebook group might have noticed the option to post a NEW comment to our wall seems to have been removed. However, NOT by us!

This problem seems to be common to many profiles and is unfortunately outside of our control. Until Facebook technical staff resolve this issue, we too are in the same boat and thus cannot post new comments to our own wall!

Accounting Issue Forum

This facility has now been removed and replaced by our Facebook page.  This page has to date proved far more successful and easier to use than the now redundant forum.

Please use the following link if you wish to Join our FACEBOOK Group or click the Facebook icon at the top of each page.

Site Preferences

A new facility has just been implemented that allows you to choose your favourite colour/s to be loaded each time you visit this website.  Once set and the browser window reloaded, these colours preferences will stay set until updated by yourself or another person using the same computer.

Please note, in order for this facility to work your web browsers setting must allow for 'cookies' to be used.  This is the default for most web browsers, so in most cases no changes to browser settings will be required.

If no setting is in force, the website will behave as normal and random colours will be loaded each time on entering the site.

PS: These settings can be amended via the 'Set Preferences' button located in the top left hand corner of the home page.

New Path Menu

Regular visitors to our site have doubtless noticed the new 'Path Menu' just beneath the page title, allowing visitors to navigate the site with additional ease.

The path menu corresponds to the menu options required for selection in order to arrive at said page.  The current page is displayed in red, and moving your mouse over other page links, causes these to be displayed in red also.

Using the links provided within the 'Path Menu' you can now navigate back to parent topics with greater speed and efficiency.

Enjoy!

Newsletter Sign-up Problem - Now Fixed!

It was brought to our attention on the afternoon of Friday 30th of October that a technical problem was preventing some site users from signing up to our FREE newsletter.  Thank you to Kent in Australia, from us at Accounting Issue for taking the time to report the problem.

The good news is, the problem has no been resolved and anyone wishing to sign-up to our newsletter should now be able to do so.

It should be possible to use the original verification email sent out to complete this process.  If you no longer have this email, please repeat the process from scratch.

Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Please note: Although we make every effort to ensure that all parts of the site are fully operational at all times, some aspects of the site are used less frequently and potential problems could go unnoticed unless reported.  Please let us know.
