Accounting Issue's Membership Help

Below are some answers to anticipated membership questions.

  1. Why has Accounting Issue decided to start charging people like me to use your website?

We have done a lot of soul searching over this issue.  Obviously in an ideal world every website on the Internet would be completely free of charge and have no in-your-face advertising cluttering the page, each time it is loaded.

Our whole ethos is based around the premise from comments made about other sites, that excessive advertising is spoiling the site visitor experience, and we are determined to ensure this does not happen here!

However, the flipside of this means we need to generate sales revenue by other means to ensure we can continue maintaining and improving the website on an ongoing basis.

Thus, a small token annual membership fee has been introduced to help subsidise this process.

  2. What benefits do members receive over non-members?

In a nutshell unlimited access to all pages on the website once you have signed in.  Currently only about 40% of our website pages are still available to non-members.  All new transactions (pages) are likely to be for members only due to the effort involved in developing more complex, and user-friendly transactions.

As a member you will also automatically receive a minimum of 10% discount on ALL other advertising (i.e. Directories + advertising slots (on Non member pages) and Jobs Board as they become available).

In addition we can guarantee that ALL member only pages will always be completely void of any form of advertising.  That's a promise!

Please see our sitemap, as this will show more clearly what is available and not available to non-members.  Links that appear grey are member only transactions and cannot be accessed without first signing in.

  3. Can I still use the website if I'm not a member?

Yes of course, however the number of transactions (pages) that you have access to is limited to non-member pages only.

Please see our sitemap, as this will show more clearly what is available and not available to non-members.  Links that appear grey are member only transactions and cannot be accessed without first signing in.

  4. How do I become a member?

This is a very simple process.  Just carefully follow the instructions below.  For your convenience we have included screen dumps to help facilitate this process.

    Accounting Issue - Membership Process

    Start

The image to the right shows generally how the home page now appears to non-members or members whom have not yet signed in.  Note the new yellow button in the bottom left hand corner labelled 'Join Now'.  This button should be clicked once for the Step 1 screen to appear.

    Step 1

The image to the right shows the members Sign In (left) and the Membership Registration (right).  To join you must complete the form on the right.  The annual membership fee is displayed clearly in red at the top of the form.  Once completed click the 'Join' button at the bottom of the form to proceed to the next step.

    Step 2

The image to the right shows the Pending Payment Transaction Details.  The amount you will be charged is clearly shown.  The period you will be charged for is also clearly shown.  All transaction amounts are shown and charged will be in pounds sterling.

Having checked the amount and details are correct, click the 'Buy Now' button to proceed to the next step.

Note: The amount shown on this screen was for testing purposes only and therefore does NOT correspond to the real amount.

    Step 3

The image to the right shows the first Paypal screen.  At this point all transaction processing has been handed over to Paypal.  This screen again confirms your pending transaction details.  At this point you can choose to pay using your Paypal account if you have one, or pay by credit card.   For those choosing to pay by credit card and who are not au fait with Paypal, it is not obvious that you need to click the 'Don't have a Paypal Account?' link as indicated by the superimposed red arrow.

    Step 4

The image to the right shows the second Paypal screen.  We believe this screen is fairly self-explanatory.  Complete all necessary details as indicated and click 'Review Order and Continue' button to proceed.

    Step 7

Congratulations you are now a member of the Accounting Issue website.  Your default password has been sent to your email address specified in the registration process.  We would recommend that you change this now to something more memorable.  This can be done easily by clicking the link 'Account Information Update', once completed, logoff and return to the home page.

Now click button it the top right hand corner labelled 'Join / Member Sign In'.  This button should be clicked once for the Step 1 screen to appear.

Enter your email address and password into the LEFT hand form and click 'Sign In'.

    That's it!

  5. How long does my membership last?

Your membership lasts for one year.  You will receive an email a few days before your membership is due to expire, however you may renew it before if you wish and one year will be added to the original expiry date.  Thus, you won't loose any days for being ahead of the game.

  6. What happens when my membership expires?

You will receive an email a few days before your membership is due to expire to prevent this from occurring without warning.  However, if for some reason you forget and your membership does expire accidentally it's no big deal.  Just repeat the Joining process.

  7. How do I change my password again?

This is very simple, you just need to login to Accounting Issue Administration using your email address and password.  Using your Account Information Update transaction change password and click Update button.  Your password has now been changed and your new password will be emailed to you as a reminder.

  8. Why have I not received a conformation email (various types) from Accounting Issue?

This is a common problem that many people often experience, not unique to Accounting Issue.  The most likely cause is an over zealous 'Spam filter' has redirected the expected email into your Spam folder.  Check your Spam folder and set our email address as NOT Spam.  This should prevent any future emails from us being erroneously redirected.

  9. I live outside of the UK; can I still become a member?

Yes of course!  That's the beauty of the Internet.

If you live outside of the UK and experience any problems with joining PLEASE let us know.  It is not intentional, this will be due to a problem that we are currently unaware of and will rectify A.S.A.P!

  10. Too many locations for member email address - What does this mean?

In simple terms this to prevent membership abuse.  Each member is allowed to access the site from two separate locations only (i.e. Work, University, Home).  If a third location is attempted this message is displayed.  If more locations are required, unless circumstances exist, deemed as atypical by our Site Administrator, an additional membership will need to be purchased.
